Redmond, Washington (October 19, 2022) — RBC Signals the multi-national provider of space data connectivity solutions, today announced the award of a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award to develop their secure government cloud-connected terrestrial edge computing capabilities. This effort will use RBC Signals software and hardware to enhance the ability for the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) to bring valuable and timely weather satellite data to their end users.

“We are very pleased to be working with AFRL on enhancing timely and secure government cloud-connected data processing and transport capabilities from the ground station.” Said Ron Faith, President and COO of RBC Signals. “Timely weather data is critical to operations and bringing more flexible capabilities is essential.” This SBIR Phase II award builds on the work performed by RBC Signals from its pervious “Commercial Solutions for Innovative Space Data Analytics” SBIR Phase I award.

AFRL and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) process in an attempt to speed up the experience, broaden the pool of potential applicants and decrease bureaucratic overhead.
